In most parts of the country, the weather outside is frightful. It’s cold and the snow is teasing us or bringing an early welcome. Winter is here and that means that most of us will stay indoors, abandoning our exercise programs until New Year’s Day, when we jump back on the wagon determined to do it this year. Instead of skipping it, challenge yourself to exercise and lose weight over the holiday with an outdoor exercise program.Try winter workouts such as ice skating, jogging, cross-country skiing and skiing. Not only will you increase your energy, you’ll bolster your immune system and burn calories. Keeping Healthy During the Holiday Stress
‘Tis the season to be jolly and stressed! It’s autopilot time as we get ready for the holidays. There’s gift shopping, parties, holiday feasts and family visits, all triggers for feeling overwhelmed and stressed out. Add to that lack of sleep and exercise, increased alcohol consumption, and time constraints and money issues, and you have a recipe for unhealthy behaviors. Thankfully, there are ways of keeping healthy during the holidays and methods of coping with holiday stress.

Eating: Holiday Stress and Food
Ho, ho, ho, the annual food-and-drink fest is back, making it harder to stay on track. Navigating your way through office parties, family get-togethers and business engagements can be overwhelming. By eating a piece of pecan or pumpkin pie, a glass of eggnog, a couple of potato latkes or a few butter and sugar cookies everyday, you will gain anywhere from 2 or 3 pounds, even more over the holiday season.
