Stephanie has been practicing yoga since 1998. She deepened her practice by completing her yoga instructor certification through the Living Yoga Program at Barsana Dham in Austin, Texas in 2009.
Hungry to learn more on the healing and therapeutic aspects of yoga, Stephanie continued her education with insightful teachers like Pandit Rajmani Tigunaitis, Judith Hanson Lasater, and Rod Stryker. She completed many advanced anatomy teacher-training courses becoming certified to teach students living with stress and anxiety disorders, pregnancy, cancer and physical limitations. Stephanie is pursuing her Yoga Warriors Certification to help military personnel alleviate symptoms of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI).
Currently, Stephanie focuses her study on Prenatal Yoga. She began teaching mothers-to-be, through yoga asanas and pranayama, how to strengthen the body for labor, birth and motherhood as well as how to breathe and to deeply relax. Medical experts agree that creating a positive, supportive and well-informed environment gives all mothers the emotional boost and self-esteem they crave. Through her prenatal classes a sense of confidence, companionship and community emerges.
Stephanie encourages her students to express kindness and playfulness during their yoga practice and throughout their daily lives. She encourages every student to open their hearts, create a happy and healthy mind, body and spirit and live for each moment through their practice of yoga. She currently teaches Prenatal Yoga, Gentle Yoga, Vinyasa Flow, and Adaptive Yoga for students with chronic medical illness and physical limitations.
